Jerry Barrish opened Barrish Bail Bonds in
1961 and became known as the "Progressive bail bondsman." He
bailed out demonstrators during the Free Speech Movement and has
been there whenever protests occurred — like Port Chicago,
Fairmont Hotel, Mel's Drive-In and the Alcatraz Indians.
Barrish Bail Bonds is a family
owned business. Sister Barbara is continuing the tradition, and
when niece Lauren comes on board, she will be the next generation
in the business.
